Post guidelines for Wright Writes
-
Wright Writes welcomes submission on any topic as long as the potential feature is anti-xenophobic in nature. From immigration to the job market we welcome all topics that affect our communities. Wright University will not consider any submissions that are hateful or harmful to any community of people.
Please submit your name, email, medium, and 100-word abstract in the form below.
All submissions must be the author or artist’s original work.
Final pieces should be 500 words or less, or supply 5+ images. For more details please consult the next section, “Details on Length.”
We welcome multimedia submissions. Submissions are also welcome to present pieces in which the written word and imagery work in conjunction with each other. If your work requires an introduction, you will be asked to supply it.
-
Written pieces should be limited to 500 words. On occasion we will consider longer pieces up to 1000 words.
We evaluate poetry based on the project, and do not limit word count.
Photography and image submissions should supply a minimum of 5 images.
Video submission should be limited to 7 minutes.
-
All published submissions will earn $125. For longer written pieces WU pays $125 for the first 500 words and $0.25/word over 500.
-
Upon acceptance we will request your completed piece, an artist/author photo, and a 1-2 sentence author biography.
You will then work with our editor to make any proposed changes to written elements.*
*It is not the interest of Wright Writes to change the messaging of submissions. We work only to clarify any points of confusion. All work will then undergo a proofread during which Wright Wrights reserves the right to correct spelling and punctuation as appropriate, while respecting the artistry in any poetry.
