Welcome!

Welcome to the Wright University community! If you’ve found your way to this webpage, we want to thank you for exploring our mission and content!

Wright Writes allows WU to provide a platform for thought leaders and community members to present their stance on an array of issues. This space exists to inspire meaningful conversation about topics that impact our community and the success of its members. The content will give an inside perspective into the issues WrightU is tackling and how we are thinking, evolving, changing, and growing with you.

WrightU is here to support our community. WrightU’s mission is to maintain an open and transparent line of communication with our entire community. Wright Writes aids WU in cultivating a space where potential donors can decide if they’d like to support our institution. Current donors will have the opportunity to feel validated by their investment. Future students and staff can begin to identify with WrightU’s values. Finally, students and higher education community members at all institutions will find information to enrich their success.

Now, if you hesitated when you read “transparent” in the paragraph above, stick with me! Did a few of you say to yourself “Yeah, right”? For those of you who are raising an eyebrow at the promise, I venture to say you’re part of the camp feeling frustrated with communication in your work or education environment. Perhaps you’ve heard the word transparency before from your administration, and your institution or company didn’t follow through. It may be that they talk the talk, but don’t walk the walk. If you’ve been feeling let down by a lack of institutional communication, I hear you and understand your skepticism. I’ve been in those campus-wide meetings where you think, “just answer the question”!

On the other hand, I’ve also worked with phenomenal administrators who embody the importance of transparency in the workplace. I hope you’ll give us the chance to prove that we mean what we say, and we’re here to create space for true transparency in Higher Education.

To those who have had positive experiences with open communication in your department, company, or sector, I encourage you to share your experiences! When it happens, it can be immensely productive. Knowing how to participate in such a model is a valuable skill. We are grateful to be part of a movement for transparency and open dialog in higher education.

Now, it’s the time to walk the walk (or perhaps, in this case, Wright the Write). I invite you to return on September 1 to read our first content post of Wright Writes penned by our Brand and University Relations Manager, Pamela E. Herring, MS. She will discuss her experience as a graduate student looking for work during a pandemic. Don’t miss her thoughts on interviewing your interviewer!
